Photo Licensing & Copyright

Whose photos, and what you can do with them.

Last updated · July 8, 2026

The short version: Plumma's Vision keeps the copyright, but once your gallery is paid for you get the full-resolution, watermark-free originals to print and enjoy for personal use. Previews may carry a watermark; your final downloads never do.

Who owns the photographs

Under U.S. copyright law, the photographer owns the copyright to an image the moment it's taken. All photographs created by Plumma's Vision remain the copyright of Plumma's Vision unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. Booking a shoot licenses the images to you — it does not transfer ownership of the copyright.

What you get with a paid gallery

When your gallery is paid in full, you receive a personal-use license and the actual high-quality files — delivered through your private download link:

  • Full-resolution originals. Your downloads are the real, unaltered high-resolution files — not compressed, social-media quality versions. They're made to print.
  • No watermark. Final paid images are delivered clean, with no watermark.
  • Personal use. Print them, hang them, and share them on your personal social accounts.

Previews and watermarks

Any preview, proof, or sample shown before payment — on the site, in a proofing gallery, or over message — may carry a Plumma's Vision watermark. This simply protects the work until it's purchased. Your final, paid downloads are always the clean, watermark-free originals described above.

What's not included

A personal-use license does not cover commercial use. Without a separate written license, please don't:

  • Use the images to advertise, promote, or sell a product, business, or service
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the images to others
  • Enter the images into contests, stock libraries, or AI training datasets
  • Substantially edit, crop out, or alter the images and present them as a different work (light personal edits for your own use are fine)

Commercial & business licensing

Shooting for a dealership, builder, brand, or shop? Commercial licenses are absolutely available — they're just arranged separately so the terms fit how the images will be used. Reach out at mike@plummasvision.com and we'll sort it out.

Portfolio & promotional use

Plumma's Vision may display photographs from a shoot in its own portfolio, on social media, and in marketing. If your shoot is private and you'd prefer the images not be shown publicly, just let us know before or after the shoot and we'll honor that.

Credit

Credit isn't required, but it's always appreciated — a tag or mention when you share your photos helps a lot.

Questions or requests

Want a commercial license, an exception, or to have an image taken down? Email mike@plummasvision.com and we'll work it out.

This page explains our standard licensing approach in plain language and isn't legal advice. The specific terms for your shoot may be set out in your booking agreement, which takes precedence where they differ.
